Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Trigana Air's Deputy Area Manager, Irwan Rochendi, confirmed that their aircraft resumed flights from Sentani to Dekai on Tuesday (20/2/2024) after being temporarily halted due to a shooting incident involving a Wings Air plane.
"On Tuesday afternoon, the Boeing 737-500 aircraft resumed flights to Dekai, carrying 120 passengers," he said, saying that security authorities in Dekai has guaranteed safety.
The Sentani-Dekai flight takes approximately 30 minutes and operates daily, antaranews.com reported.
"Hopefully, there will be no more cases of shootings against passenger aircraft flying to Dekai," Irwan said.
Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, has said that the joint military and police forces are currently investigating the armed criminal group allegedly involved in the a shooting of a decending Wings Air plane at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport on Saturday.
