Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang.  Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Abdullah Azwar Anas, disclosed that 6,000 state civil apparatus (ASN) will relocate to the IKN, the new capital, in the first phase due to inadequate facilities. "The total number of ASNs to move is 11,916, but since the facilities are not yet sufficient, only 6,000 will relocate in the first phase," he said on Tuesday (20/2/2024). Minister Azwar explained that currently, there are 47 apartment towers ready in IKN, with each tower containing 60 units, that will accommodate ASNs, members of the Indonesian Military and the Indonesian National Police (INP), middle ranking officials, and other personnel. The planned relocation of ASNs, initially scheduled for July, had to be postponed until after August 2024. He  revealed that this delay was in accordance with the directive from State Secretariat Minister Pratikno. "The relocation was originally planned for July, but the state secretariat minister informed us that the area will be used for the Independence Day ceremony on 17 August, so we will transfer them after August," Minister Azwar Anas explained. He outlined that the transfer of civil servants to IKN would follow three priorities. The first priority involves 179 echelon I officials from 38 ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Trade. The second priority includes 91 echelon I officials from 29 ministries and agencies, while the third priority consists of 378 echelon I officials from 59 ministries and agencies. "We have arranged accommodation for married couples to stay together, and for others, while awaiting the completion of the towers, they can share accommodations," the minister added. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
