Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP) urged all road users not to neglect the use of turn signals when turning or changing lanes.

Despite being a simple action, turning on indicators is a critical component of road ethics and traffic safety. The Traffic Corps emphasized that turn signals serve as a vital communication tool between drivers to convey vehicle movement intentions.

"Turn signals are not a formality, but a lifesaver. Turn on your signal before turning so other road users understand your direction. One simple signal can prevent accidents and save lives," it said in an official appeal on Saturday (25/7/2026).

The Traffic Corps outlined three key steps for safe maneuvering: signaling intention in advance, verifying that surrounding traffic is clear, and executing the maneuver smoothly without sudden movements. The agency reminded the public that small oversights behind the wheel can lead to fatal consequences, calling on all motorists to treat indicators as the universal language of the road to foster safer and more orderly travel.
