Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police  (INP) have named two suspects for allegedly uploading manipulated online content related to remarks by Labor Party chairman Said Iqbal ahead of the 28 August 2025 labor protest.

Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji, the Director of Cyber Crime at the INPe’s Criminal Investigation Department, revealed ton Wednesday (3/9/2025) that the suspects are identified as WH (31), owner of Instagram account @bekasi_menggugat, and KA (24), owner of @aliansimahasiswapenggugat.

Authorities said the suspects altered a news graphic that originally showed Iqbal urging students and university executive bodies (BEM) not to join the labor rally. The manipulated version turned it into a call encouraging students to participate.

“The changes are clear, both in visuals and wording. It is evident what was altered,” Chief Himawan explained during a press conference, as reported by antaranews.com.

The two face multiple charges under Indonesia’s Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law and the Criminal Code (KUHP), carrying a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison. Both are detained at the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police headquarters.
