The Women and Children Protection Unit VI (PPA) of the North Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested two suspected exhibitionists on a TransJakarta bus. The incident occurred on Thursday (January 15, 2026) at around 6:20 PM in the Gedong Panjang Port Toll Road area, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

"We have arrested two men with the initials HW and FTR," said Head of the Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Superintendent Onkoseno Grandiarso Sukahar, on Friday (1/16/2026).

He explained that the two suspected perpetrators committed indecent acts in a public space, resulting in a woman being victimized.

Onkoseno stated that the case began when the victim boarded the TransJakarta bus after work. At the time, the victim was standing with other passengers on the bus.

"The victim initially didn't realize anything was happening that could be considered harassment. However, a few moments later, she felt a liquid on the back of her clothes. She initially thought it was from the air conditioner," explained Onkoseno.

Then, another passenger noticed something strange and screamed, drawing the attention of other passengers. The victim finally realized she had been the victim of a sexual harassment.

According to Onkoseno, the TransJakarta conductor, along with several passengers, immediately apprehended two men suspected of being the perpetrators. Both were handed over to the police for further processing.

The investigative team has now secured evidence in the form of the victim's clothing, which is suspected of having the suspicious liquid on it. In addition, two witnesses have been questioned.

"For their actions, the alleged perpetrators are being charged under the article relating to public indecency as stipulated in the Criminal Code (KUHP)," he said.
