Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Universitas Indonesia (UI) confirmed on Tuesday (14/4/2026) that the comprehensive investigation into alleged verbal sexual harassment within the Faculty of Law is being managed according to prevailing national and campus regulations.
"UI ensures that this situation is managed so it does not escalate into physical conflict," said Erwin Agustian Panigoro, the UI’s Director of Public Relations, while addressing recent student demonstrations regarding the case as reported by antaranews.com.
The university’s Prevention and Handling of Violence Task Force (Satgas PPK) is currently examining reports involving 16 students, following formal complaints and evidence submission. This process aligns with Rector’s Regulation No. 37 of 2025 and national standards, involving witness examinations, evidence verification, and the drafting of formal sanctions for any proven violations.
Furthermore, UI has adopted a victim-centered approach, providing psychological counseling, legal aid, and academic support while maintaining strict identity confidentiality. The administration urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation and the privacy of all involved parties.
