Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Viral posts on X (formerly Twitter) claiming that a United Nations (UN) survey ranked Indonesia's life expectancy 230th overall and among the bottom five globally, with an average lifespan of only 58 years, are false.
Fact-checking portal turnbackhoax.id said that Indonesia's life expectancy ranks 163rd globally with an average life expectancy of 71 years, according to data compiled by Worldometers from the UN Population Division
The false social media rumor misattributed data from other nations. Official UN Population Division records show that South Sudan occupies the 230th rank with a life expectancy of 57.97 years, while Lesotho ranks 228th with an average lifespan of 58.63 years.
