inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Stella Christie, emphasized the importance of strengthening educational foundations from the outset.

This is a strategic step in preparing Indonesia's next generation to face global challenges while contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy.

She further emphasized that improving the quality of education from an early age is a crucial foundation. This is so that students can develop sustainably up to the tertiary level.

"Higher education, science, and technology are crucial foundations for economic growth. Global data shows that research-oriented universities produce innovations that not only strengthen the nation's competitiveness but also encourage the birth of new industries and job creation," she said on Thursday (9/25/2025).

On this occasion, she emphasized that education must be a key pillar in driving national economic growth.

She also said that experiences in various countries show that research-based universities play a crucial role in creating innovation and superior human resources.

According to her, Indonesia needs to transform from a teaching university to a research university if it wants to be on par with developed countries.

"Indonesia must seriously invest in research to escape the middle-income trap and rise to the level of developed countries," he said.
