inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized the importance of ongoing synergy between the Islamic Boarding School Economic Business Association (HEBITREN) and the Government in order to realize the welfare of Islamic boarding schools.

Gibran conveyed this in an audience with HEBITREN at the Vice President's Office, Jakarta, Tuesday.

"The Vice President advised how the programs prepared (HEBITREN) can synergize with the government," said HEBITREN General Chair Hasib Wahab Hasbullah, after the meeting, quoted by Antaranews on Tuesday (4/30/2025).

This synergy is considered strategic in strengthening the role of Islamic boarding schools as centers for empowering the people's economy, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita vision which emphasizes strengthening entrepreneurship and the creative industry for equitable development and the people's economy.

In the meeting, the Vice President also appreciated HEBITREN's steps in accelerating economic strengthening through business units in Islamic boarding schools.

According to him, this initiative is important in encouraging economic independence and expanding the contribution of students to national development.

Furthermore, Kiai Hasib said that the Vice President paid special attention to the implementation of the Pesantren Endowment Fund.

He also revealed that the Vice President emphasized that the fund should be prioritized to support the education of the students.

Currently, HEBITREN has recorded more than 10,000 Islamic boarding schools as its members.

"The potential is very large if we develop Islamic boarding school business units, both in the economic and business fields and now we already have a place for that, namely HEBITREN," he said.
