inp.polri.go.id - East Manggarai. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming has instructed that assistance be continuously provided to communities affected by the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) earthquake, including to self-evacuated refugees scattered across several locations.
While inspecting the refugee post at the Golo Cenggo Post in Reok District, Manggarai Regency, on Friday (8/21/2026), Vice President Gibran Rakabuming stated that the government has prepared assistance for people still living in the refugee post, and that registration is also being conducted for those self-evacuating, not those in evacuation centers.
"I have ordered immediate distribution, especially for self-evacuated refugees," said Vice President Gibran Rakabuming during a dialogue with the refugees in Manggarai Regency.
He also asked the refugees who know those who are self-evacuating to help them register their needs.
"Tell your friends it's better to stay here. Food and medical treatment are all available here," the Vice President added.
The government has been providing assistance since the 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck several locations in the NTT region.
Most recently, the National Disaster Management Agency BNPB received a total of 34.38 tons of logistical aid from the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) as well as various relief supplies from the Jakarta Provincial Government.
He said the government is also continuing to record homes damaged or even destroyed by the earthquake. During a meeting with evacuees, he asked whether they had registered for home repair assistance.
