inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visits East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to review the construction of Mbay/Lambo Dam in Nagekeo Regency, . In his visit, he emphasized that the dam must be completed soon because of its benefits to support agricultural irrigation and flood control.
Gibran explained that the acceleration of development is needed so that the benefits can be enjoyed immediately by the community, especially in supporting productive agriculture, providing clean water, and reducing the risk of flooding.
He also emphasized to the relevant ministries/institutions that the construction of the Mbay/Lambo Dam needs to be maximized as a new center for economic growth, including the development of local tourism.
"This strategic project must be accompanied by strengthening the capacity of farmers, improving public services, and sustainable environmental management," said Vice President Gibran, quoted by Antaranews on Wednesday (5/7/2025)
The Mbay/Lambo Dam is one of 77 national strategic projects (PSN) as stipulated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 12 of 2025 concerning the 2025–2029 RPJMN. Construction of the Mbay/Lambo Dam began in September 2021, and the target is for the dam to be completed in 2026.
As of early May 2025, construction of the dam had reached 80.40 percent.
