President Joko Widodo calls that wars and blatant massacres in modern eras is mind boggling that he could really not comprehend. “It really does not make any sense and truly an inhumane act. In a modern era that we live in now, it is really surprising that there are still wars and blatant massacres,” condemn Jokowi in his opening remarks at R20 International Summit of Religious Authorities (ISORA) in Jakarta. Jokowi stressed that what happened in Palestine is a blatant mass murder against all civilians, including women and children. He thought that the human tragedy in Palestine could be tolerated. “The open mass murder (happened in Palestine) that kills thousands of civilians, killing women and children, calls for immediate ceasefire. The delivery of humanitarian aids should be accelerated and peace talks has to be commenced immediately,” stressed Jokowi. He also underscored that Indonesia believes that religion, religious figures, and the general public holds important role in creating peace, harmony, and unity in a country, even world. “That is why I respect, I appreciate this forum. Let us make the dialogue between religions and countries to bridge our differences and stop all conflicts so that we could bring a world that is peaceful and in harmony,” closed the opening remarks of Jokowi.
