Inp.polri.go.id – Kendari. Kendari Sub-regional Police has successfully evacuated a victim who was drowned at Toronipa Beach of Soropia Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Kendari Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Muhammad Eka Fathurrahman reveals that Delon (30), a denizen of Latompe, was drowned after spending his holiday at the beach. “The incident began when he came to Toronipa Beach along with his colleagues from Damri company. They rest at gazebos near the beach and went to the sea water around 14:15. Fortunately, the owner of the gazebos went to clean the place and saw Delon surfaced unconsciously. Delon then immediately rescued and evacuated to the nearest hospital by his colleagues,” told the police chief. According to the statement of a witness who provided the first aid, he smelled a smell of alcohol from Delon. During the incident, the beach reportedly was in high tide although the tide was fairly calm. This brings to conclusion that Delon drowned due to the influence of alcohol. (ad/ri/pr/mm)
