Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The West Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police Traffic Unit distributed protective face masks to motorists across 10 major traffic intersections on Monday (7/9/2026) following potential health risks from Mount Anak Krakatau's volcanic ash.
Field operations began at 6 am under the leadership of Traffic Unit Deputy Chief Assistant Senior Inspector Sudarmo. Officers deployed handheld advisory boards alongside traffic management duties to remind commuters of respiratory health risks.
Distribution points covered major intersections in West Jakarta.
"Public safety is our top priority," said West Jakarta Police Traffic Chief Senior Inspector Reza Hafiz Gumilang. "Police duties extend beyond traffic control to providing health protection during environmental hazards."
He urged commuters to wear face masks during outdoor transit and follow official updates regarding volcanic activity.
