inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The West Java Regional Office of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) ensures that regional food security is very strong, with a safe rice stock of 847,000 tons, to meet public demand for rice from 2026 through the next harvest season.

Nurman Susilo, Head of the West Java Bulog Regional Office, explained that the government's sufficient rice reserves (CBP) are supported by aggressive harvest absorption at the local level, capitalizing on the momentum of West Java's 2025 rice production surge of 18.54 percent, reaching 10.23 million tons of Dry Milled Grain (GKG).

Nurman stated that by mid-2026, Bulog West Java's absorption had reached 1,160,873 tons of Harvested Dry Grain (GKP) and 3,069 tons of rice, totaling 596,896 tons of rice equivalent.

"West Java's increasing rice production is proof that our agricultural sector continues to grow. Bulog is here to ensure that farmers' production is properly absorbed while maintaining a balance between farmers' interests and community needs," said Nurman in Bandung on Tuesday (7/28/2026).

He explained that during the procurement process, Bulog purchases farmers' unhusked rice in accordance with the Government Purchase Price (HPP) standard, which is IDR 6,500 per kilogram for GKP quality, and provides broad, unrestricted access for all local farmers.

"Farmers don't need to worry about marketing their harvests. All farmers have the opportunity to sell unhusked rice to Bulog through available networks, both through Bulog work units and partner mills with which they have collaborated," he said.

This large volume of food reserves underscores West Java's vital position as the nation's primary food barn, ready to mitigate price fluctuations and maintain market supply stability.

"Our current stock is more than sufficient. We continue to maintain availability so that the people of West Java can be assured of a stable rice supply at a stable price," Nurman added.
