Inp.polri.go.id - Kuningan. The West Java Regional Police have built a special shelter along the Mount Ciremai hiking trail in Kuningan to improve hiker safety and support environmental conservation within the national park.
“This shelter will serve as protection from extreme weather, a rest area, an emergency evacuation hub, a directional guide, and a checkpoint for hikers,” said West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan on Monday (11/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The facility, named Pesat Gatra 93, is located at Post 3 on the Palutungan route and was inaugurated on August 8 ahead of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day.
Chief Rudi added that the shelter symbolizes the police’s presence on the trail and reflects care for both hiker safety and nature preservation. The project involved cooperation between the police, Mount Ciremai National Park, nature lovers, and local communities.
