Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The West Java Regional Police have named six suspects, mainly students aged 17 to 21, following violent clashes during International Workers' Day in Bandung on Friday.
The suspects were detained for allegedly orchestrating anarchist acts that led to the destruction of public facilities in the Tamansari area.
"These actions resulted in the burning of a videotron unit, a police post, and the destruction of public traffic lights," said West Java Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, on Saturday (2/4/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.
He confirmed the suspects face charges of arson, incitement, and collective vandalism.
Police seized dangerous evidence, including two Molotov cocktails and gasoline. Investigations revealed that all suspects tested positive for the restricted drug Tramadol, while some carried psychotropic medications like Alprazolam.
Authorities are currently analyzing CCTV footage and mobile phone data to identify potential masterminds who may have exploited the youths to trigger the unrest.
