The West Java Regional Police are reinforcing the role of Community Policing Officers (Bhabinkamtibmas) as the frontline defense in maintaining public order and security to directly address accelerating regional security dynamics and secure long-term stability across West Java as a core component of national resilience.

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Dr. Pipit Rismanto said that contemporary public order challenges are expanding rapidly due to swift social shifts, digital technology integration, economic pressures, natural disaster vulnerabilities, and evolving criminal methodologies.

“All police officers, particularly Bhabinkamtibmas, are demanded to be more adaptive, professional, and capable of building the right approach tailored to the specific needs and conditions of the local community,” he said.

Bhabinkamtibmas officers occupy a vital operational tier because they live and work in immediate contact with local neighborhoods. This frontline positioning enables them to serve as an early warning mechanism and the initial point of contact for resolving neighborhood conflicts, responding to community grievances, and managing localized security variables before they escalate.

To maximize grassroots effectiveness, the reinforcement will be synchronized with the optimization of the "Sabuk Kamtibmas" (Public Order Belt) Program. Through this institutional initiative, the West Java Police aim to solidify operational synergy between local law enforcement, municipal governments, and community leaders to guarantee a safe, stable, and resilient environment across all districts.
