Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung.West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, confirmed that vehicle volume on arterial roads across West Java has risen by approximately 10 percent as the 2026 Eid Al-Fitr holiday approaches.
"Today we focused on the arterial route from Karawang toward the East Priangan region, and while there is a 10 percent increase, traffic flow remains significantly smooth," he during an inspection at the Nagreg Integrated Post in Bandung Regency on Sunday (15/3/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.
To manage the rising volume, the West Java Police have implemented situational traffic engineering, specifically sectional one-way maneuvers. This tactical approach is coordinated with the Traffic Directorate to dissipate localized congestion as soon as queues begin to form, with reported clearance times averaging under ten minutes.
With the peak travel period predicted for 19 and 20 March 2026 hundreds of personnel remain stationed along critical corridors to ensure that the homecoming journey remains safe and orderly for all travelers.
