Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The West Java Regional Police urged the public on Tuesday (25/8/2026) in Bandung to remain calm and avoid unverified social media calls to join mass demonstrations scheduled for 27 August 2026.
"Do not fall for calls to mobilize for demonstrations just because you received information on social media," said Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, the Head of Public Relations for the West Java Police. "Verify the truth and source of the information first."
He said that while expressing opinions in public is a constitutionally protected right, demonstrations must be conducted peacefully, orderly, and within legal boundaries without disturbing public activity.
Chief Hendra encouraged residents to practice "filtering before sharing" content to prevent third parties from inciting unrest and disrupting regional stability.
