Inp.polri.go.id - Palu. Central Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nasri issued an edict prohibiting forest and land fires to strengthen regional prevention efforts in Palu on Monday (24/8/2026)

"The edict reflects the police's commitment to preventing karhutla while protecting the public and the environment," said Senior Superintendent Achmad Muhaimin, the Head of Public Relations for the Central Sulawesi Police.

Edict No. MAK/.1./VIII/2026, issued on 22 August 2026, outlines five key directives warning against land burning for any reason. It highlights severe criminal penalties under environmental and forestry laws, including Articles 308 and 311 of the Criminal Code.

The Central Sulawesi Police announced intensified patrols in high-risk areas, strict law enforcement against violators, and urged residents to actively report any illegal burning activities to local authorities immediately.
