Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Social Affairs and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) found that West Java recorded the highest number of social aid, locally known as bansos, recipients involved in online gambling during the first half of 2025, with 49,431 recipients and transactions worth Rp 199 billion.

“After West Java, Central Java recorded 18,363 recipients involved with Rp 83 billion in transactions, followed by East Java with 9,771 recipients worth Rp 53 billion,” Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said on Thursday (7/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com. 

He added that major cities such as Bogor Regency, Surabaya, and Central Jakarta also posted significant figures.

Overall, 132,557 recipients nationwide were linked to online gambling, with total transactions reaching Rp 542.5 billion, mostly via the Dana e-wallet. 

The Ministry is now verifying accounts to ensure aid reaches intended beneficiaries and is not diverted for illicit activities.
