Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Head Hasan Nasbi dismissed doubts over Indonesia’s 5.12% economic growth in Q2 2025, stressing that official figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) are transparent and consistent.
"If the economy goes up, we say it goes up. When it goes down, we also say so. This is not a horoscope forecast," he said in a press briefing on Thursday (7/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com
He pointed out that growth fell to 4.87% in Q1 2025 after 5.02% in Q4 2024, and both figures were publicly released by the same administration.
Hasan urged critics to look beyond household consumption and government spending, noting investment’s strong role. Indonesia’s realized investment reached Rp942.9 trillion by August, which is nearly 50% of the Rp1,900 trillion annual target, creating over 1.25 million jobs. Manufacturing grew 5.6%, while investment expanded 6.99%, driving Q2 growth.
