The West Papua Regional Police has deployed 385 personnel to  secure distribution of logistics for the 2024 Election, including ballots for the presidential-vice presidential candidates and candidates for the Regional Representative Council (DPD). Head of the Operations Bureau of the West Papua Police Senior Superintendent Erick Kadir Sully said on Thursday (4/1/2024)  that the security of ballot distribution would be conducted from the harbor to the Manokwari General Election Commission (KPU) warehouse. "The police guarantee the security and smoothness of the ballot distribution process," he was quoted by antaranews.com as saying. Chief Erick explained that the ballots were distributed to five KPU districts in West Papua, namely Manokwari, South Manokwari, Arfak Mountains, Teluk Bintuni, and Teluk Wondama. According to him, the security for the entire process of ballot distribution is carried out according to the order of the West Papua Police Chief starting from 1-15 January 2024. This is part of Operation Mantap Brata Mansinam from 19 October 2023  to 20 October 2024 to secure the situation ahead of the 2024 Elections. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
