Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Madiun Sub-regional Police East Java, have named a 10th suspect in the 30 August 2025 violent protest at the Madiun City legislative council (DPRD) building in Madiun, East Java, that left more than Rp 530 million in damages.
“The suspect, identified as WR, was one of the WhatsApp group administrators and played a role in provoking the course of the demonstration,” Madiun Police Chief Superintendent Wiwin Junianto said on Friday (26/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Earlier, nine suspects had already been charged in connection with the riots, including one accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail, an offense carrying a potential sentence of more than 15 years in prison. Another was charged under the Electronic Information and Transactions Law for spreading hoaxes that triggered unrest, while seven others face charges of vandalism and theft.
Police said investigations are ongoing with East Java Regional Police assisting in tracking digital communications linked to the protest. Case files for the initial nine suspects have already been sent to prosecutors for further legal proceedings.
