inp.polri.go.id - East Kalimantan. The East Kalimantan Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit continues to strengthen its preparedness to address the threat of forest and land fires in East Kalimantan.

Through its Disaster Response Team and Under Operational Control (BKO) personnel, the East Kalimantan Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit is moving quickly to monitor, extinguish, localize, and coordinate with relevant agencies in several areas.

These swift actions were taken following the emergence of several fire hotspots in West Kutai Regency, Paser Regency, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, and Berau Regency.

Each hotspot was immediately addressed according to the terrain and characteristics of the land to prevent the fire from spreading and minimize the impact on the environment and community activities.

In West Kutai, the response team handled the wildfire in Jengan danum Village that burned the forest vegetation over an area of approximately 2 hectares. Although the location is quite far from residential areas, personnel are still taking precautionary measures by isolating the hotspot and coordinating with relevant parties to prevent the blaze from spreading.

The wildfire handling was also carried out in Paser Regency where the team handled a peat land fire in Tepian Batang Village. The fire affected an area of approximately 10 hectares which was adjacent to a palm oil plantation owned by residents.

On the other hand, in Kutai Kertanegara Regency, personnel joined in the Wildfire Task Force were deployed to handle the fire in Ambarawang Laut Sub-district, Samboja District.

Additionally, personnel assigned in the Aman Nusa II Operation of Forest and Land Fire Task Force were tasked to handle the peatland fire that broke out in Muara Leka Village, Muara Muntai District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The fire, which covered approximately 2.5 hectares of land near an oil palm plantation, was successfully extinguished, preventing the flames from spreading to residents' plantations.

In Berau Regency, personnel coordinated with relevant agencies to handle the wildfire in Ahmad Yani Road, Lebanan Village, Teluk Bayur District. The fire engulfed approximately 3 hectares of forest and plantations adjacent to residential areas. Personnel immediately secured the area and isolated the hotspots, along with relevant agencies, to prevent the flames from spreading and threatening residents' homes.
