1,623 Personnel Deployed to Secure Protest at National Monument

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A total of 1,623 security personnel have been deployed to monitor a protest by various alliances and BEM Seluruh Indonesia  university student body at around the Horse Statue roundabout in the National Monument (Monas) vicinity, Central Jakarta, on Monday (17/2/2025). 

“We urge all involved to remain calm and conduct their demonstrations peacefully,” said Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro, the Chief of Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police, as quoted by antaranews.com

Officers have been stationed at multiple points around the roundabout and in front of the State Palace. 

Chief Susatyo stated that the deployment is intended to ensure the demonstration remains peaceful. 

Traffic management measures will be implemented as necessary, and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes if the situation escalates.
