Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Navy has convinced that the legal process involving the fatal shooting of a civilian in North Aceh, allegedly committed by a Navy seaman, will be conducted transparently.
"In line with our leadership's directives, this case will be handled openly, with no attempt to conceal any details," said major Anggiat Napitupulu, the Commander of the Naval Military Police in Lhokseumawe, Aceh, during a press conference on Monday (17/3/2025).
The victim, identified as Hasfiani alias Imam, was a nurse and car sales agent. His body was found wrapped in a sack at KM 30, Gunung Salak, Nisam Antara District, North Aceh. The suspected killer, identified as Seaman DI, is now in custody at the Naval Military Police for further investigation. The preliminary motive for the shooting is believed to be an attempt to steal the victim’s car.
"We assure that the suspect will face the harshest penalties in accordance with the law," Commander Anggiat said, as quoted by antaranews.com, .
The Navy also extended condolences and an official apology to the victim’s family.
