Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf has officially issued Governor’s Instruction No. 1 of 2025, requiring civil servants and the public to perform congregational prayers and mandating Quran recitation in schools across Aceh.

Launched at Masjid Raya Baiturrahman mosque on Sunday (16/3/2025), the directive obliges all activities to pause during the call to prayer (adhan). In addition, students in formal education must recite the Quran for 15 minutes before lessons.

Governor Muzakir also introduced the Aceh Wakaf Movement, promoting productive Islamic endowments (wakaf) to support local economic development.

“May Allah bless our efforts to strengthen Islamic values in Aceh,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

During the event, he received a replica of the historic Acehnese Quran, transcribed by 30 calligraphers in 12 days. The original, once held by Masjid Raya Baiturrahman’s Grand Imam during Aceh’s resistance against the Dutch, is now preserved at Leiden University, the Netherlands.
