Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Actress Yuki Kato was questioned by investigators of the Cybercrime Division at the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Board for her involvement in promoting online gambling, a senior police official confirmed on Sunday (24/9/2023).
"On Saturday, September 23, 2023, an examination or clarification was indeed conducted with Ms. Yuki Kato," said Brigadier General Adi Vivid Agustiadi Bachtiar, the Director of Cybercrime, as reported by antaranews.com
Yuki had to answer 23 questions during the examination related to her alleged role in endorsing a website suspected to be an online gambling site. The questioning took place on Saturday from 12:00 to 4 pm.
The Cybercrime Division has been questioning a number of actors and actresses, celebrities, and influencers related to online gambling promotion. Previously, the police questioned actress Wulan Guritno. The Cybercrime Division has advised them to not involve in online gambling promotion due to its impacts to society.
Throughout 2023, the Cybercrime Division has uncovered 77 cases of online gambling, with 130 suspects arrested. In comparison, there were 610 cases uncovered with 760 suspects. in 2022.
