Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman and Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo held a discussion on Sunday (12/1/2025) about a program aimed at achieving corn self-sufficiency in Indonesia.

Minister Amran described the meeting as “very positive” and emphasized their shared goal of launching a nationwide synchronized corn planting program, which will also involve police personnel, as reported by antaranews.com.

The initiative aimed to cultivate 1.7 million hectares of land, including plantation and dry areas, with the target of producing an additional 4 million tons of corn, representing a 25% increase in current output.

Key provinces identified for this program include Central and West Kalimantan, South Sumatra, South Sulawesi, Lampung, and Central Java. In addition to production, the program will focus on strengthening infrastructure, including access to quality seeds, irrigation, and production tools.

The police will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth distribution of resources and the program’s success, said Minister Amran.
