inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) identified three keys to the successful implementation of the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) Program, which serve as a crucial foundation for ensuring effective, equitable, and sustainable implementation.
BGN Head Dadan Hindayana stated that the first key is budget allocation to ensure the MBG reaches all 82.9 million target individuals, including pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and children in preschool through high school.
"This year, BGN received a budget allocation of IDR 71 trillion, plus IDR 100 trillion in standby funds. Of this total, IDR 99 trillion was successfully utilized, while IDR 70 trillion was returned to the President of the Republic of Indonesia due to potential unutilization this year," said the BGN Head on Wednesday (10/15/2025).
Next year, the government support will increase significantly, with a total budget of IDR 268 trillion. In addition, the government has also allocated a reserve fund of IDR 67 trillion, bringing the total support in the State Budget to IDR 335 trillion to support the implementation of the 2026 MBG Program.
"With 82.9 million beneficiaries, we will distribute approximately IDR 1.2 trillion daily. For other ministries, that figure might be equivalent to an entire year's budget, but for us at the National Development Planning Agency (BGN), it's just one day's needs," said Dadan.
He continued, explaining that the second key is human resources (HR). The government ensures that the MBG Program implementers are trained personnel, all university graduates of the Indonesian Youth Movement (SPPI) program, who now lead Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) throughout Indonesia.
He further explained that the third key is infrastructure, particularly the construction of SPPG buildings. Initially, the project was planned to be funded entirely by the state budget. However, due to time constraints and implementation constraints, the government opened up partnerships as a strategic step.
"I would like to express my gratitude to all partners who have participated in building SPPGs in various regions. You are all national heroes who are accelerating the success of this program," he said.
