Inp.polri.go.id - Balikpapan. East Kalimantan Regional Police launched the Police Food Security Task Force at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters in Balikpapan on Wednesday (20/11/2024).
Led by East Kalimantan Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto, the event was attended by key officials, including Major General Tri Budi Utomo, the Commander of the Mulawarman Regional Military Command, Acting East Kalimantan Governor Akmal Malik, and other government representatives.
The initiative covers 1.5 hectares of land, where crops like corn, cassava, peanuts, watermelon, and kangkung have been planted. The project includes raising 500 ducks and 10 goats as part of a small-scale farming effort.
Chief Nanang said that the program aims not only to address food needs but also to ensure proper nutrition and prevent stunting. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between government agencies, the police, and local communities for the program’s long-term success.
