inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that budget efficiency in state universities (PTN) should not affect the amount of single tuition fees (UKT).

According to her, the budget efficiency carried out by PTN is only for the budget for the meeting, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) sector.

"The efficiency criteria for ministries/institutions (K/L) that we implement only applied to official travel, seminars, stationery, commemorations and celebrations, and other ceremonial activities," said the Minister of Finance on Friday (2/14/2025).

Therefore, she emphasized that budget efficiency by PTN in the MICE sector should not have an impact on the UKT value in the upcoming 2025-2026 New Academic Year.

"This step should not affect the decision of universities regarding UKT, which in this case will only be carried out for the new 2025-2026 academic year, namely in June and July (2025)," said the Minister of Finance.

Sri Mulyani said that the government would conduct detailed research regarding the operational budget for PTN so that it would not have an impact on the UKT value given to students.
