Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Foreigners involved in Bali’s international drug network primarily act as couriers to finance their stay, Bali’s National Narcotics Agency (BNN) revealed on Thursday (6/3/2025).

"Many of them are exploited as couriers due to financial constraints during their time here," said BNN Bali’s Eradication Division Head, Senior Superintendent I Made Sinar Subawa, as reported by antaranews.com.

From January to February 2025, BNN Bali arrested three foreign men, identified as TP (32) from the UK, AZ (41) from Russia, and MI (30) from Ukraine, all distributing drugs to sustain their vacations.

Drugs are typically distributed via “drop-off” methods, where shipments are picked up and redirected under instructions from foreign-based controllers.

Seized evidence includes 1 kg of MDMA from a Hungarian network, 179.52 g of delta-9 THC, and 11.84 g of methamphetamine. The most common drugs among foreigners in Bali are marijuana, cocaine, and "happy water," an MDMA-laced powder mixed into drinks.
