Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesia welcomes the Cairo Declaration from the Arab Summit, emphasizing collective efforts to rebuild Gaza post-conflict.

"We welcome this declaration, which directly addresses Gaza’s reconstruction—an issue deeply important to Indonesia," said Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Rolliansyah “Roy” Soemirat in Jakarta on Thursday (6/3/2025).

Although not an Arab Summit participant, Indonesia expects the declaration’s principles to resonate at the upcoming Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) ministerial meeting. A key focus will be aligning the declaration’s objectives with OIC nations’ broader support for Palestine.

A critical aspect is rejecting forced Palestinian displacement.

"This concern extends beyond Arab nations; it is a global issue, including for Indonesia," Roy said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The Arab Summit adopted a joint reconstruction plan and formed a legal committee to assess forced displacement as potential genocide. It also condemned Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid, denouncing its use as political leverage. Indonesia affirmed its commitment to future international reconstruction efforts.
