inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government is speeding the completion of the Presidential Regulation Bill (Raperpres) on Child Protection in the Digital Space Road Map.
“We are still adding the inputs from the ministries/institutions and currently is finishing the administration process to later be returned to the State Secretariat,” says the Deputy for Special Protection of Children at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) Nahar on Friday (2/21/2025).
Nahar explains that the bill includes three strategies on protecting children in the digital spaces, one of them are strategies to prevent misuse of information and communication technology against children in the online realm.
The focus of the strategies used includes risk control with key interventions including identifying, filtering, and cutting off access based on risk and danger, including preparing policies related to the governance of electronic system implementation (PSE) to implement child-friendly information technology design mechanisms.
The roadmap for child protection in the online realm was prepared so that ministries/institutions and local governments have guidance in implementing child protection in the online realm.
The preparation of the draft presidential regulation involved more than 16 ministries/institutions.
"This regulation is expected to be a reference for policy makers in reducing the number of online violence against children and increasing cross-sector collaboration," said Deputy Nahar.
