inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government is again providing incentives in the form of value-added tax (VAT) discounts on airline tickets and other transportation during the Christmas and New Year 2025 period.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the discounts are provided through the government-borne VAT (PPN DTP) scheme as part of the 2025 economic policy package.
"We have prepared government-borne VAT for airline tickets, and also transportation services on certain days, certain times like before, we provide 50 percent," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga, Monday (9/22/2025).
He explained that the transportation incentives were rolled out again after a proposal from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Transportation.
Previously, during the mid-2025 school holiday period, the government also provided a stimulus in the form of airline ticket discounts valid from June 5 to July 31, 2025 with a 6 percent VAT DTP scheme.
The policy is outlined in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 36 of 2025 issued on June 4, 2025.
In addition to transportation incentives, Coordinating Minister Airlangga also stated that the government and business actors will again hold National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) on December 10-16, 2025.
The 2025 Harbolnas transaction target is set at IDR 35 trillion. This target is a 12.2 percent increase compared to the 2024 Harbolnas achievement which recorded transactions of IDR 31.2 trillion.
The government will launch an economic package called 8+4+5 as a strategy to maintain the momentum of economic growth, expand employment, and strengthen the investment climate amidst global uncertainty.
