Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Directorate General of Immigration detained 13 foreigners for allegedly establishing and working for fictitious foreign investment companies in Batam, Riau Islands.

Another 13 remain in the country and are now on the immigration wanted list, while nine others abroad will have their residence permits revoked.

“This operation is part of our ongoing efforts to prevent foreigners from misusing Indonesia’s investment framework for unlawful activities,” said Acting Director General of Immigration Saffar M. Godam on Thursday (13/3/2025).

The operation, codenamed Wira Waspada 2025, targeted 12 foreign investment firms flagged for business license revocation. Authorities conducted open and covert inspections, verifying documents and gathering intelligence to ensure compliance with immigration laws.

Among those detained is an Austrian citizen, identified as DB, accused of using a fake company to extend his investor visa. Several Chinese citizens were also found misusing their visas by engaging in unauthorized labor.
