Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono has strongly condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, which occurred early Friday local time.
“We condemn this act. It constitutes a violation of international law and undermines the very foundations of the global legal order,” he said during a press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday (13/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Minister Sugiono warned that the escalation could worsen tensions in the region and called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint.
“We hope the situation will not deteriorate further. The government is closely monitoring developments,” he added.
Following the attack, the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran is maintaining communication with Indonesian citizens in Iran to ensure their safety and well-being.
The Indonesian government reaffirmed its commitment to peace and urged the international community to uphold international law and safeguard regional stability.
