Inp.polri.go.id - Badung. The Directorate General of Immigration have detained 312 foreign citizens in Bali for visa violations linked to problematic foreign investment companies during the Wira Waspada operation from January to February 2025.
“Our commitment is to enforce strict monitoring and legal action in Indonesia,” said Acting Director General of Immigration Saffar Muhammad Godam on Friday (21/2/2025).
Authorities inspected 267 foreign investment companies-backed businesses, leading to the revocation of their business identification numbers (NIB) in November 2024 for failing to meet the required Rp 10 billion ($640,000) minimum investment. Of the 126 foreigners sponsored by these companies, 15 have been deported, while 111 await further action.
A second operation in February identified 186 more foreigners tied to 86 troubled foreign investment companies. As many as 208 foreigners linked to 43 suspected shell companies remain under scrutiny.
The Director of Supervision and Enforcement of the Immigration Office Brigadier General Yuldi Yusman said most deportees were from China, Russia, Pakistan, India, and Australia, primarily working in trade and consulting. The crackdown will continue nationwide.
