Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Wing Chun National Team made an impressive achievement at the International Wing Chun Competition 2024, held in Foshan, Guangdong, China, from 12 to 15 December 2024, by winning 11 gold medals, three silver and one bronze.
Sher Lie, the manager of the Indonesian Wing Chun National Team, said on Sunday (15/12/2024) that six athletes contributed to the achievement, including Excel Fernando Ferdiansyah and Jessie Djalimin, who each earned three golds in categories like Zixuan Quan and Qingnianqian. Michael Arroll Nestor Jennings secured two golds and one silver, while Shakira Marini Putri and Carlson Sasmita also won gold in their respective categories.
The outstanding performance was achieved in a competition that featured approximately 3,000 participants, including 300 from outside China.
Sher Lie credited the success to the rigorous training and support from the Wushu Indonesia executive board under the leadership of Airlangga Hartarto, according to antaranews.com.
Iwan Kwok, Vice Chairman of Wushu Indonesia, praised the team's accomplishments and appreciated the support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Wushu Indonesia management, which enabled the team to shine on the international stage.
