Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has proposed building a high-security prison on a remote island to deter corruption.
Speaking at the Ministry of Education event on Thursday (13/3/2025), he emphasized the need for strict measures against those who exploit public funds.
“I will allocate funds for a prison in a remote location where they cannot escape. If they try, they’ll meet the sharks,” President Prabowo said, as reported by antaranews.com.
He highlighted that corruption hinders national development, impacting teachers, doctors, nurses, and farmers by diverting funds meant for public welfare programs. He said he has instructed his administration to optimize budget efficiency, ensuring resources benefit the people.
President Prabowo said he remains committed to fighting corruption, declaring his willingness to risk his life to eliminate the practice.
“I will not back down. The corrupt must understand I am ready to die for this nation. I fear no mafia,” he asserted, calling for collective efforts to eradicate corruption and strengthen Indonesia’s future.
