Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Indonesia’s air navigation agency, AirNav Indonesia, forecasts the peak of Christmas and New Year’s holiday air traffic will begin on 19 and 20 December2025, with the return peak expected on 3 and 4 January 2026, said AirNav Operations Director Setio Anggoro on Thursday (13/11/2025).
“Daily flight movements could reach between 4,300 and nearly 4,930 across all airports, totaling around 76,972 flights during the holiday period,” he said, adding that Bali, Yogyakarta, and Lombok are among the busiest destinations.
AirNav will optimize the Indonesia Network Management Center (INMC) to coordinate real-time flight routing, sequencing, and re-routing to handle traffic surges efficiently.
“Our goal is simple — smooth journeys and uncompromised safety,” Setio said, as cited by antaranews.com.
AirNav’s Safety and Security Director Capt tain Nurcahyo Utomo said that safety remains paramount, noting enhanced monitoring for weather, volcanic ash, and cyber threats through 24-hour Security Operation Center (SOC) and CSIRT coordination with the National Cyber Agency (BSSN).
