Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that police would provide full security coverage for the International Workers’ Day , or also known as May Day, on Thursday (1/5/2025) celebration held at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta.

“We will escort the labor groups from the beginning to the end of the event,” he  said, as quoted by antaranews.com. 

Chief Sigit emphasized that coordination with relevant agencies had been established to ensure the event proceeds safely and smoothly.

The INP have also been instructed to manage traffic flow around key access points, including routes from East Jakarta and Tangerang, to ensure minimal disruption for both rally participants and the general public.

General Sigit expressed hope that the presence of President Prabowo Subianto at the event would result in meaningful outcomes for the labor community.
