Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) confirmed it will obey the Constitutional Court’s recent ruling that amended several provisions in the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday (30/4/2025), the INP Public Relations Division of Public Information Bureau, Brigadier General. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said, “The INP will comply with the court’s ruling as it is a binding legal guideline to protect and serve the public.”

The statement came a day after the Constitutional Court issued two key decisions. First, it limited defamation charges under Articles 27A and 45(4) to individuals only, excluding government institutions, corporations, and professions. These provisions now apply solely on the basis of victim complaints.

Second, the Court clarified that hoax-related offenses under Article 28(3) are punishable only when they trigger physical unrest — not digital disruption.
