Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (30/4/2025) invited the leadership of the Indonesian Army Retirees Association (PPAD) to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta for a halalbihalal gathering, a post-Eid tradition unique to Indonesia that emphasizes reconciliation, forgiveness, and maintaining social harmony after Ramadan.
Chief of the Presidential Staff Office, A.M. Putranto, confirmed the visit was purely social.
“It’s just a halalbihalal visit,” he told reporters upon arrival, as quoted by antaranews.com.
A.M. Putranto clarified that the meeting did not address the eight-point proposal made by the Forum of the Indonesian Military Retired Soldiers, which includes calls for a cabinet reshuffle and a return to the original 1945 Constitution.
Around 10 PPAD representatives arrived at the palace at 2 pm wearing light brown uniforms and green military-style caps. When approached, they declined to comment on the meeting’s purpose.
No official statement has been issued by the Palace regarding the discussion’s outcome.
