Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso said on Thursday (26/6/2025) that the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict has not impacted the country’s export performance, citing efforts to diversify trade partners as a precaution.
“So far, there has been no impact. The war situation hasn’t affected us yet,” he said after the signing of a halal certification partnership with Australia at the Trade Ministry, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The minister noted that regional tensions have started to ease, but even if future disruptions occur—particularly in the manufacturing sector—the government has prepared by opening access to new markets.
Minister Budi Santoso highlighted the completion of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA), and progress on trade deals with Canada and Tunisia.
“These agreements open new alternative markets so we’re no longer overly reliant on any one region,” he said.
Indonesia’s trade strategy now includes anticipating environmental regulations from the EU and fostering business-to-business ties to enhance future market access.
