inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Director General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law, Razilu, said that copyright registration at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) in 2024 was dominated by the book category.

"A total of 27,397 copyright applications were successfully registered for the book category, this shows the high productivity and public interest in writing," said Razilu in a statement received in Jakarta, as quoted by Antaranews on Friday (5/30/2025).

DJKI noted that the copyright registrations other than books in 2024 include posters (17,428 registrations), video recordings (14,709 registrations), computer programs (12,953 registrations), and written works/articles (11,805 registrations).

"The growth in these sectors reflects the existence of the world of literacy amidst increasingly massive digital developments," said Razilu.

He emphasized that copyright registration is important to be carried out as strong legal evidence in protecting works from the threat of infringement by other parties. DJKI has also carried out a digital transformation through the Automatic Copyright Registration Approval (POP HC) system.

"The public, especially writers, can now feel the benefits of one of DJKI's breakthroughs in digital transformation, namely POP HC. Through this system, the registration process that previously took months can now be completed in less than ten minutes," Razilu concluded.
