Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is finalizing a presidential regulation to regulate an additional Rp50 trillion budget for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana said on Friday (9/5/2025).
“We’re drafting the mechanism. Acceleration needs funding, and that’s why this budget top-up is necessary,” he said after a policy meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, as quoted by antaranews.com
Dadan added that while the meals funding is secured, the amount of the increase depends on the pace of implementation.
President Prabowo Subianto reportedly pushed for faster rollout after seeing the unmet demand in several regions.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said a presidential regulation or instruction is being prepared to define roles, governance, school targets, and the scope of the meals' 82.9 million beneficiaries.
